Urduja was the great Goddess Princess of the ocean, love, fertility, abundance and harvest in Pangasinan, a province in the north of the Philippines. Her birth is a mystery for she was found on the ocean shore as a baby. During her rule it was known of great abundance throughout the land. She could heal her people miraculously with her great powers. She was also known for her great beauty, compassion and warrior strength. She had no hesitation to be the first in battle to protect the land and her people, there was no man she did not have equal or more strength to in combat. Her love story resonates to us a passionate romance with a free spirited traveler, who had passed through the province on his way to the South China Sea. Torn to stay with her family and her people or to be with her new found love, she followed her heart and left with him. While, her family and people were sad to see her go, she had taught them many great things on how to take care of the land. So, they continued to prosper and her stories were left for generations after of the princess born of the ocean and who left by the ocean.
